Getting To Know You..

Getting to know all about you...Know the song? Jacob and I are getting to know each other more and our daughter. Meanwhile we are also getting more settled into our lovely home and exploring the area a bit.

Great photo. 5 months and she can be intense sometimes.

Oh but mom, I am so sweet!

I got to use the clothesline the other day. It was adorable.

Mom requested a picture of our beautiful back patio.

And Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary got him the perfect birthday gift - A GRILL!

Gianna being sweet at the state park. She loved the hike!

And already being ornery sticking out her tongue. Makes me laugh. She is developing her personality for sure. And I love it!

Sights to Behold

As I convert this blog to sharing my thoughts and life as a full time mother, I would like to share some beauty with you all.

First my family. Look at these two? How can you not fall in love?

Second our new home. A little rough on the edges but it is beautiful and perfect inside. More to come.

Third the landscape here...breathtaking. We just got a pass to all 42 state parks and we have a goal to visit them all!

And fourth my husband discovered another skill. Refinishing furniture. This is amazing. I tell him it is not fair that one man has so many talents. It should be against the law. He is becoming more like St. Joseph everyday.

Wowzers!

And I want to thank my mom and dad for helping us move and get settled here in Colorado. We could not have done it without you! Thanks for lovin on Gianna too!

A Mile High

So we made it to the mile high city with peace and ease. Gianna was an angel on the trip and God has been sending me little reminders that make me feel at home and confident this is where we are meant to be for now. It sure is beautiful. Jacob and I get surprised everytime we walk outside and remember, oh yeah there are mountains!!!

This week we will be looking to find a home so we can start unpacking a little before Jacob starts his job as Marketing Specialist at the support center on Monday. He is so talented and is going to do great things for the FOCUS movement.

Thanks for all the love and support we have had from everyone! It has made the trip easier. Keep praying that we find a place to live and I will keep you posted and have more pictures once we are settled!!

My 2 Loves

I love this man. He deserves the best and I am going to work on giving it to him. I have been slowly slipping into complacency and I have lost any humility I might have once had. Thus, I have decided to not eat chocolate for one whole year as a prayer for my husband and our marriage.( Unless charity requires it.)  I am inspired by my friends Becca, Therese, and Trish who made similar sacrifices for their future spouses as they wait for prince charming to find them. It made me think “what do I do for my spouse now that I have found him?” My prayer is that we will grow closer as a couple and become more like God created us to be.

In other news, my baby girl is growing. She is awake more and we have so much fun making her smile real big. She just loves to move. I think she might be a little dancer someday. She is holding her head up like a pro and the pediatrician said she is ahead of her peers. Just gives us something to brag about. She constantly has her right hand on her face and head (this is also how she came out of the womb). She must really like it.  We love love love her!

And here is the team at the last event for Seniors at the Peoria Chiefs baseball game! Notice Gianna's right hand.

Shout Out

I would also like to give a shout out to my friend Laura who has been married for three years now! I don't know how I would keep my sanity without her. She is a role model to me of what a true wife and mother should be. I love her so much. Happy Anniversary Laura dearest!

Denver Bound

So it is happening. We are packing up in preparation to move to Denver. We will be going to my home and Jacob's home for the month of June and then heading out to Denver in July. Hopefully Miss Gianna will handle the trip well. We have been saying our farewells and normally that makes me very sad but this time I am sort of detached which I think is God's gift so I can focus on taking care of Gianna and packing. I'm sure it will hit me when I am surrounded by mountains!! Still can't wrap my head around that.

I also wanted to post a couple of pictures of our beautiful growing baby. We went to Indy with the team last weekend and watched Jacob run the half marathon! See the cute shirts we made?

Back to packing!
